Powder Coating

Powder coating is achieved by the electrostatic application of a dry, fine particulate powder that is then cured to form a strong continuous film.  Powder coating is typically used when increased corrosion or wear resistance is required, but may also be used for a wide range of applications.  An extensive range of colors, textures and other properties are available to meet specific engineering and aesthetic requirements.

Wet Paint

Wet painting is the conventional method of applying a liquid paint to a surface, most commonly achieved through spraying.  Coatings applied with wet paint tend to be thinner than for powder coating, but they are capable of producing ultra-high quality finishes.  Additionally, specialty coatings such as ceramics and Chemical Agent resistant Coatings (CARC) belong to this family.  Wet paint is also more suitable for parts that cannot be subjected to the higher curing temperatures associated with powder coating.

Chemical Processing

Chemical processing provides the ability to improve the corrosion resistance of a metal by allowing the controlled formation of an inert surface film that inhibits further oxidation or chemical attack.  Such finishes may provide a high level of aesthetic quality and be left uncoated.  Alternatively, these finishes provide an excellent surface for the application of paint systems, providing improved paint adhesion and performance in aggressive and demanding environments.
